AN UPDATE FOR PATIENTS
I hope this message finds you healthy and that you are experiencing joy in life’s small moments, from spring bulbs peeking through the soil to tales of quarantined Italians breaking into song.
As COVID-19 continues to evolve and we learn of further signs of spread in our community, we have decided to stop seeing patients in the office. All appointments will be conducted via telephone. Unfortunately, this means that new patient appointments will be postponed for the next two weeks. We will, of course, continue to reassess the situation and will keep you updated.
In the meantime, my recommendation is for patients to postpone all routine laboratory testing. If you would like to continue to receive supplements, please contact our office so we can assist you.
Please know that although many aspects of this virus are uncertain, we do know that the infection is MUCH more serious for people who:
- are over 65 years old (and even more so for those over age 80)
- have high blood pressure
- have high d-dimer (a clotting factor)
- have pre-existing lung diseases such as asthma or emphysema/COPD
- have heart disease or diabetes
If you fall under one of the categories listed above, I recommend that you stay at home as much as possible. And at this point, as we don’t yet know if looking 20 years younger than your age, eating healthy and exercising will decrease your risk (yes mom, this is for you!), please continue to take the precautions suggested by the CDC, your state and your community.
We look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to contact us via email (firstname.lastname@example.org), by telephone (585-641-7102) or through our patient portal (www.lesleyjamesmd.com).
Stay safe and be well,
Lesley James, MD, and Staff
